I walked to the High Water Mark in about 20 minutes, with many monuments to view along the way.

I have been coming here every year for the past four years because of its excellent location; it is within walking distance of many restaurants and sits right next to the battlefield. During our stays, we have experienced several paranormal events. On one occasion, my daughter woke up to find someone standing over her bed. Most recently, during my visit in August, I heard the phantom sound of a door opening and closing all night long. The noise occurred only at night, never during the day. At first, I thought a draft might be causing my bathroom door to move, so I got up and shut it, but the sound continued. It truly sounded like a door was opening and closing in my room. Thinking someone might be outside, I checked every single time, but no one was there. I called the front desk, but the staff had no explanation. Frustrated, I finally left my phone recording, and lo and behold, it captured the noise! The next morning, I showed the recording to the front desk staff, who agreed it was very bizarre and admitted they had no clue what it could be. I cannot explain why it was making this noise it was like a residual haunting it just kept doing the exact same thing. The only reason I didn’t leave five stars is because I didn’t get any sleep that night. Also the only downfall about the hotel is it does not have an elevator to the second floor. Other than that I would recommend this place to anyone!

This is good hotel you should use for the location, the price, the bar and complimentary breakfast. The battlefield starts literally 2 feet from the parking lot. The rooms were clean and safe. They were slightly outdated, but you aren't coming here to sit in the hotel. My 1 complaint is the pillows they used on the beds. They were the lumpiest and smallest pillows I have ever seen on a hotel bed.

The best part about this hotel is the location. It is walking distance to downtown and also easy accessible via the bike trails. If you are planning to bike the trails, this location is perfect. We also liked how affordable it was, it included breakfast and had a small pool which was perfect for traveling with kids. Their breakfast is buffet style and good enough but the house where breakfast is served has limited seating for the size of the hotel. Rooms were clean and comfortable enough, only downside was the loud heater fan. It has a bar on premises, which we did not get to check out. Across from it is a local brewery with delicious food and drinks. Overall we were happy with our stay and would recommend this place if you are looking for a convenient location for a couple of nights at an affordable price.
